NatureWorks Collaborates for New Circular Economy Methodology

Does your company have all the proper tools and resources in your toolkit to actively participate in the circular economy?

A new Materials Circularity Indicators methodology has been published in the Tools & Resources for Ellen MacArthur's CE100 Co.Projects, which was created via a collaborative project, with the input of NatureWorks' Senior Circular Economy Manager, Tim Goodman, Global Public Affairs Director, Mariagiovanna Vetere, and Global Marketing & Communications Manager, Leah Ford on the Project Team.

The first version of the Material Circularity Indicator methodology was published in 2015 and focused almost entirely on technical cycles and materials from non-renewable sources. This update now includes an extension of the methodology to include the treatment of biological materials -a significant advance which allows for inclusion and proper evaluation of all material types.

The full Circularity Indicators methodology and toolkit for measuring company circularity are available for download now. Learn more here.

Milliwave Silicon Solutions Finds Their Solution in 3D Printing with Ingeo™

Extensive temperature resistance testing with other filaments still finds Ingeo™ 3D870 based product to be the best performing at a critical threshold, while maintaining the precise printability for which PLA is known. When Milliwave Silicon Solutions company owners, JeanMarc Laurent and Chinh Doan set out to create the one-box wonder that is the Millibox 2-axis, 360° mmWave radiation pattern test chamber, it was important it be compact yet modular, extrememely accurate, yet affordable, and they had great interest inkeeping the carbon footprint as low as possible.

Laurent and Doan found a partnership with 3D-Fuel, a US filament company who offered Pro PLA filament made with NatureWorks' Ingeo™ 3D870. They found that filament to be the best performing at the critical threshold of 90°C while maintaining the precise printability for which PLA is known. Read the case study here

MK735 Mini Server / NAS Chassis by 3Dwebe
Made with Ingeo™ 3D870, the first 100% 3D printable Mini Server / NAS chassis has been assembled. The creator, 3Dwebe, notes that this method may actually absorb sound better than a steel chassis, and recommends using about 1900g of good quality, high heat deflection temp PLA filament based on Ingeo 3D870, which has a "massive advantage" when it comes to impact resistance.
